CL_PROSPETTO PRINCIPALE (FILEminimizer)

Located within the south-east belt of Palermo, the “Costa Principe” residential building project proposes the theme of pedestrianity in a context of heavy limitation of urban aggregation spaces. The idea behind the intervention is to create a real pedestrian square at the expense of the drive. The settlement defines a space open to the city dedicated to leisure, leaving the green system that surrounds the area of intervention uncontaminated.

The project was born as a “premise of the redevelopment” of a place, according to a new logic of sustainable and contemporary urban spaces, which reflect the concept of memory in those pieces of the city where the community recognizes itself and its identity; in fact, it looks at the local community, thinking that in the future it can be organized by a design of services which tends to link local economies together and make future project proposals in the area. Starting from these premises, we have reasoned on the theme of urban redevelopment by tracing in the theme of the project the opportunity to structure an architectural settlement which “attacks” a series of routes which tend to develop and enhance the landscape, cultural and recreational resources. The pedestrian paths involve the landscape system that is discovered during the journey by means of cuts in the volumes.
